Christ-centered skills training, leadership development, and life coaching for vulnerable girls in Bulesa, Uganda.
The program
What is the Girls Skills Center?
The Girls Skills Center is a one-year Christ-centered program for village girls in Eastern Uganda who have had to drop out of school. Run in partnership with the local church, the program combines academic learning, vocational training, and discipleship in a single curriculum.
Students study Bible, Math, English, Health, and Business alongside a chosen vocation. Vocations currently offered include sewing, hairdressing, and farming. Some graduates go on to internship placements that lead into independent work in their home communities.

Community Education Outreach
Skills Center girls taking the message on the road.
Community Education Outreach is a traveling team of girls from the Skills Center who bring awareness to surrounding communities on topics like girl-child education, early marriage, domestic abuse, and HIV prevention. They reach their neighbors through drama, poetry, songs, and traditional dance.
The outreach gives current students a platform to lead and gives graduates a way to continue serving the communities they came from. Some girls who complete the Skills Center program go on to internship placements that lead into independent work.
