ABOUT THE ACTIS’S

Matt was raised on a small cattle ranch in the foothills of Fresno County. He graduated from CSU Fresno with a degree and a teaching credential in Agricultural Education and taught at Clovis East High School for 10 years. Matt studied Theology through Moody Bible Institute's distance learning program.

Shelley was raised in the mountains of Sonora and also majored in Agriculture at CSU Fresno. One of Shelley's missionary training programs included Women in Ministry through Converge PacWest.

Together, both Matt and Shelley attended the Center for Intercultural Training and have been full time missionaries since 2010.

Matt & Shelley have four daughters: Lindsay (2000), Kennedy (2001), Chloe & Sophie (2003).

Hope58

Hope58 is a non-profit, Christian organization. Hope58 is named after the Bible verse Isaiah 58, in which God shares His heart and passion: For His followers to loose the chains of injustice, to share our food with the hungry, to give shelter to the wanderer and clothe the naked. To set the oppressed free and break every yoke! This heart-cry of God is ours as well, and we have dedicated our lives to reaching the “least of these” with God's love and HOPE.
